I don’t know about you, but I’ve had to rethink my fitness and wellbeing goals a few times in my life.

In most cases, it something pretty significant that has made me do this.

Things have to get pretty tough for me to make change of my own back.

I have to find my ‘jumping off place’ if you like.

Some examples would be….

Three cancer diagnosis in my 30s
Life changing surgery and treatment
Traumatic relationship breakups
Having a baby at 44 – a wonderful experience, but mentally and physically very challenging

And I’m sure there will be more to follow….

If it hasn’t completely turned my life upside down then I won’t have the motivation to make serious change – and even then I often need a little help…

I’ve always maintained quite a high level of physical fitness throughout my adult life. This is something that has not only been a huge part of my identity, but has also brought me a lot of pleasure and satisfactions. More importantly, it has helped me mental wellbeing immensely and got me through some really challenging times.

Every time, the terror that I would never get my fitness back was huge … I did though, but it was different and ALWAYS better!

This wasn’t always apparent at the time, but I needed to take that first step, explore new things to find out what worked best for me and my body at that time in my life…

At Love Life Ladies Fitness, I’ve also had the privilege to work with lots of women who have also reached their ‘jumping off place’. They’ve reached a massive crossroads in their life, lost hope, motivation and don’t know where to turn.

With support, encouragement, the right tools and advice they’ve founds new ways of exercising and self care that has transformed their life for the better.

And this hasn’t stopped because of lockdown and is summed up perfectly by Kate who has been with us for over three years:

‘I admit I rather hesitantly joined LLL back in March 2017 as my confidence to do any exercise was low. I’d had my second baby in September 2016 and was really struggling to get the baby weight off plus my fitness level was rock bottom and I knew I needed to do something!

I can still recall my first class, I was buzzing afterwards. From that point I was eager to try the wide variety of classes and joined one of the beginners running groups resulting in me running a 5km, 10km and a half marathon in September 2018! I must admit bootcamp remains a favourite of mine along with Piloxing but you are spoilt for choice!

In addition to the classes you can also access fantastic nutritional advice, weight loss and detox programmes. I’ve done both programmes, lost a stone and a half in weight and feel fitter in my forties than I did in my twenties! 

Although Covid-19 has hit hard, the wonderful thing is LLL has remained a constant source of positivity, both mentally and physically speaking. There has been so much encouragement and support online and it has reminded me why I stayed. At the moment we have the added advantage of total flexibility with online classes – if you can’t make a live class just catch up another time.’
